Training contract questions
How do I apply?
Application is via our online application form - you can find the link on the apply section of the website. We are unable to accept letters/CVs by way of application.
Who is eligible to apply?
We accept applications from penultimate year law undergraduates, final year law and non-law undergraduates, postgraduate candidates and also candidates considering a career change.
Once I've submitted my application form, when will I hear the outcome?
We only contact candidates after the deadline has passed and we aim to get back to everyone within 2 weeks.
Do you accept applications from non-law candidates?
Yes, we accept applications from both law and non-law candidates. If you are applying from a non-law background, you will not be able to apply until the final year of your degree.
I achieved a 2.2 at degree - can I still apply?
We ask that ideally candidates have received a 2.1, however we do not screen solely on academics. As such, we do accept applications from candidates who have received a 2.2 however you will need to ensure that the rest of your application form is of a high standard.
How many trainees do you recruit each year?
We recruit 10 trainees each year.
Which offices will I be able to complete a training contract in?
We offer training contracts in the following offices: Birmingham, Bristol, Southampton and Taunton.
If I'm successful at application, what happens next?
The next stage is an assessment centre. This will consist of a negotiation exercise, a group exercise, a written exercise and an interview with a Partner and a member of HR. You will also get the chance to meet some of our current trainees and have a tour of the office.
